I received samples of Built Bars new Protein line called Built Go. If you follow this blog then you know I am not a fan of protein shakes. One thing I have found to do with protein powder is make ice cream. So that is what I did with this.
Built Go is Built Bars new protein line that features flavored protein in a convenient to-go pouch. It features 15 grams collagen protein for muscle health, Niacin for brain health, Beta Alanine for muscle endurance, Vitamin B12 for stamina and endurance, Vitamin B6 for mood regulation, and Caffeine for an energy boost.
The Macros for Chocolate Coconut are:
Servings: 1 packet
Calories: 90
Fat: .5 grams
Carbs: 12 grams
Added Sugar: 8 grams
Sugar Alcohol: 3 grams
Protein: 15 grams
Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups – Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 cup – Almond Milk, Unsweetened
- 1/2 cup – Swerve Confectioners
- 1/2 cup – Swerve Granular
- 1 tsp. – Vanilla Extract
- 1 packet – Built Go Chocolate Coconut Protein
- 1 bar – Built Bar Dark Chocolate Cookie Dough, cut into small pieces
Instructions:
- Using a large Mixing Bowl beat heavy cream with mixer until stiff peaks form (at least 6 minutes).
- Add both forms of Swerve and Almond Milk, Vanilla, and protein to heavy cream and beat until combined.
- When mixture is smooth put it into Ice-Cream Maker and allow to churn for about 1 hour.
- Add small Built Bar pieces to ice-cream through additive slot on top of Ice-Cream Maker slowly. Allow to churn for another 20 minutes.
- Transfer mixture to a freezer safe container and allow to set for 4 hours for gelato-type consistency or 8 hours for more traditional hard ice cream. I have been finding that my Temp-tations by Tara pans really set the ice cream up well and are small enough that they make the perfect ice cream pint size.
